Butch Tribute is a composition of three choreographies – Flirt, Roses and Flannel Dream – with which the dancers and choreographers Ann-Christin Kongsness and Marte Reithaug Sterud investigate queer female masculinity. The performance is inspired by the figure of the butch, a term used to describe queer women with a masculine gender expression, an often marginalised and ignored group. The aim of this series of performances is to broaden the representation of butches by showing different faces of queer female masculinity.
