For the past three years, Festival ORLANDO has welcomed a fictional institution: after Un’Anagrafe Fantastica in 2024 and the Ministero del Fallimento in 2025, this year the artist Tea Andreoletti was commissioned to create a new imaginary institution, which has taken shape as Sottobanco.

At a time when schools struggle to remain free spaces capable of educating for relationships, the project imagines that, under the desk, practices of care, exercises in empathy and tools for consent might circulate.

Sottobanco is a pathway for young people aged between sixteen and eighteen from the Alta Valle Seriana and Romano di Lombardia. Through dialogue and contemporary artistic practices, participants explore feelings, emotions, relationships, body, identity and pleasure, leading to the shared creation of a participatory performance to be presented during Festival ORLANDO in Bergamo. The project unfolds within a safe, free and non-judgemental space, born from the urgency of caring for relationships in a present marked by violence and inequality.

The project is supported by Oxfam Italia and the European Union through the Connecting Spheres call. Delivered in collaboration with Cooperativa Sociale Itaca and Cap24020 ETS, with the patronage of the Municipality of Clusone.
